When introducing myself I usually like to start off by first introducing my grandmother. Why? Well because she bore 10 children (the 7th being my Dad) and raised most of them on her own. She was an ordained minister, traveling apostle, heavily influential, and dearly loved by the inner city of Chicago until her passing in 2011.
My passion for ministry and people come from my Grandma. Some holiday weekends she would stay with us, I remember waking up to the sound of worship music and When I went to see who it was, it was my Grandma. She was up early worshiping God, reading her Bible, and listening to faith-filled sermons. Moments like these showed me how real God was to her. Christianity wasn't something she did on Sundays, it was something she lived every day.
I have A LOT of cousins but Iβve been told since I was little that I look JUST like my grandmother. As a child I thought, how could that possibly be a compliment? How could someone think itβs cute to tell me I look exactly like a woman who is ten times my age?! I didn't value it at the time but now I find it to be one of my most valued attributes. I not only carry her looks but her heart.
Fast forward to this present day, I too find myself doing ministry. At the age of 13 I fell in love with ministry doing a summer internship and knew it was what I wanted to do with my life. By the age of 18 I was working full time and have loved the local church ever since.
In January 2021, I transitioned from a career in marketing to a full-time Pastor at Kaleo Phoenix.
Thanks for visiting and I hope we can connect and chat soon.
