...and still be healthy...without therapy.

If you're like me, you may have grown up with a certain stigma around counseling/therapy, but it has honestly been THE most helpful thing I've ever experienced.

Even more than church πŸ‘€ I'm not kidding πŸ‘€ and I'm about to become a pastor myself. πŸ‘€

Therapy (more specifically, working with an EMDR specialist) has given me very specific tangibles I can work on to have a healthy mental and emotional rhythm of life.

Due to privacy policy, @doctorchante is not allowed to engage with posts from her clients, but let me tell you, she is THE BEST. I spent an entire year looking for someone off and on and finally found someone that really knows her stuff and just...GETS IT.

I ain't gone hold you. I've put in a lot of work too! Everything she recommends...I do it.

When she says, have this vulnerable conversation with your boyfriend...I do it. Have this vulnerable conversation with your friend...I do it. Read this book...I do it. Journal about this...I do it. Practice some yoga...I do it. Take time for yourself...I do it...and because I've been doing the work, I'm seeing the results. This is the healthiest I've ever felt mentally and emotionally.

I believe the best gift I can give to you as a friend, sister, daughter, girlfriend, co-worker, AND soon to be pastor (hello? πŸ‘€) is the gift of a healthier me. If I'm not healthy, I will disciple others into my toxicity.

She is not asking me to post about this, but I've told several people about her and feel there may be more that need a good therapist.


If you're a person of color and you need a Black female therapist...try Dr. Chanté. Even if you can only go once a month or once a quarter. She even does Zoom sessions! AND, she can provide you with other good recommendations if she's not a good fit for you.
